[ワシントン １４日 ロイター] – トランプ米大統領は１４日、ホワイトハウスで記者団に対し、現在続いている連邦政府機関の閉鎖に伴って撤廃する「民主党の政策」のリストを１７日に発表する予定だと述べた。
トランプ氏は具体的な政策に触れなかったが、政策の撤廃が恒久的になるだろうと示唆した。
一方、上院は下院が先月可決したつなぎ予算案を可決しようとしたができず、８回目の失敗となった。つなぎ予算案は政府に１１月２１日までの資金を提供し、政府閉鎖を終わらせる内容だ。上院の採決は４９対４５で、可決に必要な６０票に届かなかった。上院は共和党が多数を占めている。
政府閉鎖は３週目に入り、共和党と民主党の議員は引き続き互いに行き詰まりの責任を押し付け合っている。
