［ワシントン ２５日 ロイター］ – トランプ米大統領は２５日、トルコのエルドアン大統領とホワイトハウスで会談した。トランプ氏は会談の冒頭、ウクライナへの侵攻を続けるロシアからの原油購入を停止するよう求めた。
「ロシアがウクライナに対する暴力を続ける間、エルドアン大統領にはロシア産原油の購入を一切止めてもらいたい」と述べた。
また、対トルコ制裁を「非常に近いうちに」解除する可能性があり、「良い会談となれば、ほぼ即時に」解除するだろうと述べた。
また、最新鋭ステルス戦闘機「Ｆ３５」のトルコへの売却について、契約を締結する考えはあるかという質問に対しては、「エルドアン氏は自分が買いたいものの購入に成功すると思う」とし、Ｆ３５戦闘機の売却を認める可能性を示唆した。
トランプ氏は会談後、さまざまな問題について「非常に決定的」な協議だったと述べたが、詳細には踏み込まず、後日発表するとした。
トルコがロシア産原油購入を停止するかとの質問に対しては「停止するだろう。他の多くの人々から購入できるからだ」と述べ、トルコが要請に応じることに自信を示した。
