［ワシントン　９日　ロイター］ – 米下院の超党派議員団が月内に中国を公式訪問することが分かった。下院軍事委員会の民主党トップを務めるアダム・スミス下院議員が率いる。

同委員会のスタッフはスミス氏が訪中代表団を率いることを確認したが、それ以上の詳細は明らかにしなかった。

ＮＢＣニュースは先に、スミス氏のインタビューを基に訪中について報じていた。訪中の正確な日程は不明。

同氏はＮＢＣニュースに対し、代表団には下院軍事委の民主・共和両党議員が参加するが、ロジャース委員長（共和党）は加わらないと説明。訪問により「米中間の対話を促進したい」と語った。

代表団が中国の習近平国家主席と面会するかとの問いには「要請しているが、まだ分からない」と応じた。
