グラフィックデザインの詩的実験
カナダ・モントリオールにあるUQAM（ケベック大学モントリオール校）のデザインセンターで、フランスのアーティストでグラフィックデザイナーのファネット・メリエによる個展「Versicolore：ファネット・メリエのグラフィックの世界」が2025年9月18日から11月9日まで開催されている。本展では書籍、ポスター、アニメーション、オブジェ、インスタレーションなど、多様なメディアを横断する彼女の表現を紹介する。

展示のキュレーションはUQAMの名誉教授であり、グラフィックアートの研究者としても知られるマルク・H・ショコが担当。展覧会では、詩的で独自性のあるメリエの世界観を紐解きつつ、作家とのコラボレーション作品や研究的実験、教育的要素を持つプロジェクト、そしてユニークな受注制作の数々が紹介されている。
引用やテキストによって構成されたインスタレーションは、来場者に対してグラフィックデザインの実践における思考を可視化し、メリエ自身が語る「多様性の中で創造する喜び」や、その喜びを共有する姿勢が明確に伝わってくる。顧客との関係性、実験的アプローチ、詩的な作品によって、彼女は観る者に「夢見ること」を促す。

ファネット・メリエ プロフィール
ファネット・メリエは2000年にストラスブールの装飾芸術高等学院を卒業。ピエール・ディ・シウロやピエール・ベルナールといった著名なグラフィックデザイナーのもとで経験を積んだ後、2004年に独立。出版社や文化・社会的プロジェクトにおいて、主に印刷物を中心に活動している。これまでに多数の雑誌やグラフィックフェスティバルに参加し、ポンピドゥー・センターなどの美術館で作品を展示。2012年から2013年には、ローマのフランス・アカデミー（ヴィラ・メディチ）にレジデンスとして招かれている。

マルク・H・ショコ プロフィール
マルク・H・ショコは、UQAMのデザイン学部の名誉教授。1977年から2018年まで教鞭を執り、1985年から2005年までINRS（都市化・文化・社会研究所）で研究ディレクターを務めた。また、1999年から2008年までUQAMデザインセンターのディレクターも担当。現在は、書籍出版、展覧会の企画・制作、講演活動などを通じてグラフィックアートの普及に尽力している。
