［ワシントン ７日 ロイター］ – 米南部ジョージア州で建設中の現代自動車の工場で数百人の労働者が拘束されたことを受け、トランプ政権の国境対策責任者を務めるホーマン氏は７日、移民法執行でさらに多くの企業を標的にする考えを示した。
ＣＮＮの番組で「職場での取り締まりを強化する」と述べ、「善意から不法移民を雇う人はいない。不法移民を雇うのは、より重労働をさせ、より低い賃金で働かせ、米国市民を雇用する競合他社よりも優位に立てるからだ」と述べた。
米移民当局は４日に行った現代自動車の工場への捜索で、不法就労で４７５人を拘束。韓国籍の労働者が大半を占めた。韓国政府は７日、行政手続きが完了次第、労働者らを帰国させると明らかにした。
