［ブリュッセル ５日 ロイター］ – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）の執行機関である欧州委員会は５日、米アルファベット(GOOGL.O), opens new tab傘下のグーグルに２９億５０００万ユーロ（３４億５０００万ドル）の制裁金を科した。アドテック事業における反競争的慣行がＥＵの反トラスト法（独占禁止法）に違反していると判断した。
同措置は「欧州出版者協議会（ＥＰＣ）」からの申し立てに端を発する。欧州委は、グーグルが自社のオンライン広告技術サービスを競合他社やオンライン出版社の不利益となるよう優遇していると指摘。自社優遇の慣行を停止し、固有の利益相反を解消する措置を講じるよう命じた。グーグルは６０日以内に対策を報告する必要がある。
欧州委のリベラ上級副委員長（競争政策担当）は声明で「グーグルは利益相反に対処するため、真摯な対策を講じる必要がある。それができない場合、われわれはためらうことなく強力な対策を講じる」と述べた。
