[ブリュッセル ２９日 ロイター] – 米アルファベット(GOOGL.O), opens new tab傘下のグーグルは、アドテック事業における反競争的慣行の疑いで、今後数週間のうちに欧州連合（ＥＵ）から少額の制裁金を科されることになりそうだ。事情に詳しい関係筋３人が明らかにした。
「欧州出版者協議会」からの苦情に端を発した４年にわたる調査を受けたもので、その後の２０２３年にグーグルがライバル企業よりも自社の広告サービスを優遇しているとの疑惑が告発されるに至った。
控えめな制裁金はEU欧州委員会のリベラ上級副委員長（競争政策担当）によるビッグテック対応の転換を意味する。前任のベステアー氏は違反行為に対して多額の制裁金を科すアプローチを取っていたが、関係筋によると、リベラ氏は企業を罰するよりも、反競争的慣行をやめさせることに重点を置きたいと考えているという。
