［コンゴスタ（スペイン） １１日 ロイター］ – スペイン北部の国立公園付近で火災が発生し、猛暑と強風により火災旋風が起こった。複数の家屋が焼失し、数百人が避難を余儀なくされた。当局が１１日に発表した。
カスティーリャレオン州北部では複数の森林火災が発生しており、６つの村で約８００人に避難指示が出された。
濃い煙のため消防航空機の出動が不可能という。
地元環境当局の責任者によると、１０日には高温のため、国連教育科学文化機関（ユネスコ）の世界遺産に登録されているラスメドゥラス国立公園付近で火災旋風が発生し、消防隊は撤退を余儀なくされた。
同責任者は、「非常に狭い窪地で気温が摂氏４０度前後に達した状態で、火が突然より開けた酸素の多い場所に移動すると、火災旋風と呼ばれる火炎を含む旋風が発生する」と説明した。
