［ワシントン ３１日 ロイター］ – トランプ米政権高官は今月、米国とイスラエルが支援する「ガザ人道財団（ＧＨＦ）」に対し、イスラエルが米国と同額の３０００万ドルを拠出することに合意したと議会に報告した。事情に詳しい２人の関係筋がロイターに明らかにした。
同報告を行ったのはトランプ政権のウィットコフ中東担当特使の補佐官であるアリエ・ライトストーン氏とチャールズ・リース氏。情報筋によると、両氏は今月８日と９日に米上院と下院の委員会に対しＧＨＦの活動について説明。米国が６月にＧＨＦに拠出した３０００万ドルと同額の援助を行うことにイスラエルが同意したと伝えたという。
両氏はインタビューの要請に応じておらず、ホワイトハウスは質問を国務省に回した。また、国務省とイスラエル政府はコメント要請に応じていない。
トランプ大統領は２８日、米国がガザの人道支援に６０００万ドルを提供したと発言。ただ、国務省の発表は６月にＧＨＦが承認した３０００万ドルのみであることから、一部当局者の間では、トランプ大統領が米国とイスラエルの拠出を混同している可能性が高いとの見方もあるという。
