ＧＭメキシコ工場で生産を数週間停止、人気のピックアップトラック

［１１日　ロイター］ – 米ゼネラルモーターズ（ＧＭ）(GM.N), opens new tabはメキシコのピックアップトラック工場で生産を数週間停止し、主力車種の生産を縮小する。関係者がロイターに明らかにし、同社もこの情報を認めた。

ＧＭはメキシコのシラオにある工場でピックアップトラック「シボレー・シルバラード」と「ＧＭＣシエラ」を生産しているが、７月最初の２週間は操業を停止しており、８月４日と１１日の週も再び操業停止する予定だと、関係者２人が明らかにした。ＧＭは正確な操業停止期間を明らかにしていない。

ＧＭはロイターの問い合わせに対し、「シラオ工場の計画的な休業は、当社の製造施設における生産の最適化に重点を置いた標準的な業務プロセスの一環である」と回答した。

シルバラードとシエラは、同社の売れ筋車種で収益に大きく貢献している。

　　トランプ米大統領の関税政策により、自動車メーカーや部品サプライヤーでは工場の稼働が混乱し、一部は生産計画を変更している。自動車部品に広く使用されているレアメタル（希土類金属）を含む磁石などの部品に対する中国の報復的な輸出規制も、生産に混乱をもたらしている。
