[ビリニュス/ヘルシンキ/タリン ９日 ロイター] – リトアニアとフィンランドがロシアの軍事的脅威を背景に来年から対人地雷の国内生産を開始し、ウクライナにも供給する方針であることが分かった。両国の当局者がロイターに明らかにした。
ロシアと国境を接し、北大西洋条約機構（ＮＡＴＯ）に加盟する両国はこのような地雷の使用を禁止するオタワ条約から離脱する意向を表明しており、６カ月間の離脱手続きが完了すれば生産を開始する可能性があるという。
リトアニアのカロリス・アレクサ国防次官は「対戦車地雷だけでなく、対人地雷にも数億ユーロを費やすつもりだ。かなりの額になるだろう」と語った。
フィンランド議会国防委員会のヘイッキ・アット委員長は「供給確保のために独自の生産体制を有していなければならない。地雷は非常に効果的で、費用対効果の高い兵器だ」と述べた。
