[ブリュッセル １９日 ロイター] – ユーロ圏財務相会合（ユーログループ）は１９日、ブルガリアを２０２６年１月１日から２１番目のユーロ導入国とするよう勧告した。準備状況について欧州委員会と欧州中央銀行（ＥＣＢ）がこれまで示した肯定的な評価を支持した。
ユーログループのドナフー議長は記者会見で「本日、ブルガリアがユーロ導入に必要な全条件を満たしているという見解で一致した」と述べた。
勧告は、２０日に欧州連合（ＥＵ）加盟２７カ国の全財務相が正式に承認、続いて２６日にＥＵ首脳が承認する。
通貨レフのユーロ換算レートは７月上旬のＥＵ財務相会合で決定され、ブルガリアに６か月間の移行準備期間が生じることとなる。
ブルガリアは２００７年のＥＵ加盟以来ユーロ導入に尽力してきたが、長い時間がかかったことから多くの国民が当初の熱意を失い、５月のユーロバロメーター世論調査によれば現在５０％がユーロに懐疑的となっている。一部には、通貨切り替えによる物価上昇を懸念する声もあるという。
