は、メタ(META.O), opens new tabやアルファベット (GOOGL.O), opens new tab傘下のグーグルなどの競合他社に対して自社のエコシステム（経済圏）を開放するよう求める欧州連合（ＥＵ）の命令に対し、異議申し立てを行った。アップルは、命令は不合理で、イノベーション（技術革新）を妨げると主張している。
ＥＵ欧州委員会は３月、巨大ＩＴ企業の力を抑制することを目的としたデジタル市場法（ＤＭＡ）に照らし、アップルが順守すべき点を明示。同業他社がアップルのスマートフォン「ｉＰｈｏｎｅ（アイフォーン）」やタブレット端末「ｉＰａｄ（アイパッド）」に接続しやすくすることなどを命じた。
アップルは声明で、ＥＵの互換性要件について、「不合理でコストがかかり、イノベーションを阻害する」と指摘。「これらの要件は、データを必要とする企業に機密情報を渡すことにもなり、ＥＵのユーザーにプライバシーとセキュリティーの大きなリスクをもたらす」と強調した。
