[ペンシルベニア州ウェスト・ミフリン ３０日 ロイター] – トランプ米大統領は３０日、ペンシルバニア州ピッツバーグ郊外の製鉄所で集会を開き、日本製鉄(5401.T), opens new tabとＵＳスチール(X.N), opens new tab の「パートナーシップ」を称賛した。一方、外交的にも微妙な問題となっている両社の合併を承認する予定があるかどうかは明言しなかった。
トランプ大統領は、ヘルメット姿の労働者を含めた１６００人以上の聴衆を前に演説し、「我々はきょう、この伝統ある米国企業（ＵＳスチール）が米国企業であり続けることを確実にする、大きな合意を祝うためにここにいる」と語った。「あなた方は米国企業であり続ける。我々は素晴らしいパートナーを得ることになる」と話した。
