[香港 ３０日 ロイター] – 中国は３０日、香港に国際仲裁機関を設立する協定に署名した。この機関が国際司法裁判所と肩を並べ、香港の国際的な信用を高めることを期待している。
香港政府トップの李家超（ジョン・リー）行政長官は今週、この機関について、国家間の紛争を解決する主要拠点としての香港の存在感を高めることを目的としているとし、その地位はオランダのハーグにある国際司法裁判所や国連常設仲裁裁判所と同等になるだろうと述べた。
中国の王毅外相が主宰した調印式にはインドネシア、パキスタン、ラオス、カンボジア、セルビアなどが出席した。公共放送の香港電台（ＲＴＨＫ）は、国連を含む２０の国際機関の代表も参加すると伝えた。
調印式で上映されたビデオによると、取り扱われるケースの範囲には国家間、一国と他国の国民間、民間の国際組織間の紛争が含まれる。
この仲裁機関は中国の国際的影響力を高め、グローバル・ガバナンスにおける同国のより積極的な役割を推進する可能性があると、一部のアナリストは指摘する。
新組織の本部は湾仔地区の旧警察署の建物で、今年末か２０２６年初めに開設される。
