[ブリュッセル ２８日 ロイター] – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）の欧州委員会は、ブルガリアに対し２０２６年初めからの通貨ユーロ導入を６月４日に承認する見込みだと、複数の当局者が明らかにした。実現すれば２１番目のユーロ加盟国となる。
欧州委は同日にブルガリアがユーロ導入の基準を満たしているかどうかに関する「コンバージェンス・リポート（収れん報告書）」を公表する予定。ユーロは現在、２０カ国で３億４７００万人が利用している。
ブルガリアは０７年のＥＵ加盟以来、自国通貨レフからユーロへの移行に取り組んでおり、ユーロ圏高官３人は、欧州委の報告は同国に好意的な内容になるとの予想を示した。
加盟はユーロ紙幣と硬貨の使用に加え、欧州中央銀行（ＥＣＢ）の政策金利決定理事会への参加も意味する。そのため、ＥＣＢは来月４日にブルガリアの導入準備状況のほか、中央銀行の独立性に関する評価を発表する。最終的には欧州委の見解が決定を左右するという。
欧州委が好意的な勧告を行った場合、ＥＵの財務相らが承認し、７月にレフの対ユーロ交換レートを確定する。これを受け、ブルガリアは年内いっぱいかけて移行に向けた技術的な準備を行う。
