［ジュネーブ ２０日 ロイター］ – 世界保健機関（ＷＨＯ）は、中国やスイス、カタールなどの国々が２０日、ジュネーブ開催の年次総会でＷＨＯに対して２０２５―２８年分として総額１億７０００万ドル超の拠出を約束したと発表した。最大の拠出国だった米国のＷＨＯ脱退による穴を埋めるため、各国は義務的拠出金の２０％増額も受け入れた。
拠出額の内訳はスイスが４０００万ドル、スウェーデン１３５０万ドル、アンゴラ８００万ドル、カタール６００万ドルなど。中国はこれに先立ち５億ドルの拠出を表明していたが、ＷＨＯは額を算出中だとして内訳に含めなかった。 もっと見る
テドロス・アダノムＷＨＯ事務総長は声明で「世界の衛生が試練の環境にある中、これらの拠出金は命を救うわれわれの活動を守り、続けていく支えとなる」と述べた。
中国使節団の報道官は、同国の拠出額には義務的拠出と、他のプロジェクトを支えるための自発的寄付が含まれると説明した。
