[ワシントン ２８日 ロイター] – 米政府当局者は、トランプ政権が２９日に自動車関税の影響を軽減する措置を講じると明らかにした。国産車で使用する外国製部品に課される関税の一部を緩和するほか、国外で製造された自動車に課す関税が他の関税に上乗せされないようにするという。
ラトニック商務長官は声明で「トランプ大統領は国内自動車メーカーと米国の偉大な労働者の双方と重要なパートナーシップを築いている」とし、「この合意は国内で製造する企業に恩恵を与えると同時に、米国への投資と国内生産拡大を表明したメーカーに道を開くもので、大統領の貿易政策にとって大きな勝利だ」と述べた。
自動車メーカーは先に、トランプ氏が米自動車大手３社や１０００社を超えるサプライヤーが拠点を置くミシガン州を訪問する前に、自動車関税の軽減を発表するとの見方を示していた。
米自動車業界団体の連合は先週、トランプ大統領に対し輸入自動車部品に２５％の追加関税を賦課しないよう求める書簡を送り、こうした関税で自動車販売台数が減少し、価格を押し上げることになると警告した。 もっと見る
