[台北 １１日 ロイター] – 台湾検察当局は１１日、２月に台湾沖の海底ケーブルを故意に損傷させたとして、中国人の船長を起訴した。海底ケーブルを巡り台湾が起訴するのは初めて。
起訴されたのは中国人乗組員が乗船するトーゴ船籍のホンタイ５８号の船長。この船舶は海底ケーブルが切断された時間帯に付近でいかりを下ろしていたとされ、ケーブルを損傷させた疑いで台湾の沿岸警備隊が拘束していた。 もっと見る
検察当局の声明によると、船長は無実を主張しているが、船主の詳細情報の提供を拒否し、「態度が悪かった」という。
同時に拘束された他の中国人７人は起訴されず、中国に移送される。
ロイターは船の所有者や船長の弁護士を特定できていない。
中国政府で台湾政策を担当する国務院台湾事務弁公室はコメント要請に応じていない。
