アップルとメタ、ＥＵで少額制裁金に直面へ　ＤＭＡ違反＝関係者

[ブリュッセル１０日ロイター] – アップル(AAPL.O), opens new tabとメタ・プラットフォームズ(META.O), opens new tabは、欧州連合（ＥＵ）のデジタル市場法（ＤＭＡ）に違反したとして少額の制裁金を科される見通しだと、複数の関係者が１０日明らかにした。

両社は昨年来、大手ＩＴ企業の市場支配力を抑える目的で２０２３年５月に施行されたＤＭＡに違反している可能性があるとして、欧州委員会が調査してきた。

関係者は制裁金が少額である理由について、ＥＵの反トラスト当局は、各企業に制裁を科すよりも、法律を遵守しているかどうかを確認することに重点を置いているためと説明。また、違反したとみられる期間が短いこと、地政学的な要素も考慮されたという。

トランプ米大統領は先月、米国企業に制裁金を科す国には関税を課すと表明した。

関係者によると、制裁金の額はまだ最終決定されておらず、状況はまだ変わる可能性がある。ただ、ＥＵ反トラスト当局トップが２月にロイターに語った通り、今月中にも決定が下される見通しだ。

欧州委はコメントを控えた。

メタは先週発表したコンプライアンスリポートの中で、ＥＵ規制を遵守するための努力にもかかわらず、規制当局から法律に書かれている以上の要求を受け続けていると報告。

アップルの３月７日付のＤＭＡコンプライアンスリポートで、同法による変更はマルウェア、詐欺、新たな詐欺手法を含め、ユーザーと開発者により大きなリスクをもたらすという主張を繰り返した。
