Ghostly encounters: The legacy of the 2011 tsunami in Japan | Witness Documentary
The Japanese city of Kamaishi was almost entirely destroyed in the earthquake and ensuing tsunami of 2011. It was the biggest natural disaster to hit Japan, killing nearly 20,000 people.
More than a decade later, local taxi drivers claim to frequently pick up “ghost fares” of the deceased. Passengers spot an increasing number of wild deer which some claim to be intermediaries between the physical and spiritual worlds. A night with Kamaishi’s taxi drivers reveals a community haunted by its loss while still struggling for closure.
Tsunami Ghosts is a documentary film by Katharine Round.

Sad . ..I Believe what they say about the deer.
I wish this documentary is longer
This is such a unique piece!
I didn’t expect the plot twist in the end!
Cell beam teathers NO MORE ARRAYS please.
Those souls need some shamans to go and release them so they can be free of the sufferings. You need some good shamans, money, and some offerings paper money and those souls will be able to leave this reality.
A few years ago, I started reading a book about the tsunami, and stories from some of the survivors & families of the victims. It was incredibly interesting, but also one of the few books I just couldn’t finish. Reading parents’ accounts of that day, sending their kids off to school as normal, and then afterwards, them going to the temporary morgues, trying to identify their children’s remains weeks after the disaster…it was haunting.
The tsunami killed a lot of people😢
Was Kamaishi in any way special or different in regard to this story?
She probably does not drive much.. I drove cab 4 19 years , the rear view mirror is for getting a look at the vehicle behind u, if it had flashing lights pull to the right, people need to obey E.V. .Maybe some day they need HEELP………..LOL
Very well made documentary. I loved it.
I hope for all Yurei for those who prematurely perished from the tsunami. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This was EXTREMELY powerful footage! Beautifully done! 🙏🏼💖🙏🏼
My brother in law runs a rescue foundation for cats that had to be abandoned in the Fukushima area. He brings them food and captures them to give them medical attention, love, and new homes!😻❤😻
The driver were so old, hoping him stay safe and happy

the scream then the silence it haunts……..weep
Where are the Ghosts ? I see only deer ….I'm agnostic about God and so i wanna see spirits , ghosts, God…..Not making fun of anyone…just a view from my curious mind🙏🙏🙏
to the people of japan im so sorry for your los xx
Just superstious…of coarse your gonna have shivers and fell weird after a tragedy like that.
The spirits would be looking for their loved ones many wouldn't know they perished. 18 metres high is that correct? 😮😮😮
Bad people
This truly happened in Kutch Bhuj, after earthquake,in rickshaw, people asking lift and disappearing, the situation was scary.
For a second, the girl was silent and I thought she may turn into ghost and it happened, she had a talk and disappeared.
The senior citizens are very strong and mentally strong.
Such a devastating day in Japanese history. So many lost souls 😢
