[ワシントン ４日 ロイター] – トランプ米政権は４日、米国際開発局（ＵＳＡＩＤ）の全ての直接雇用職員を全世界で休職とし、海外で働く数千人の職員を帰国させると発表した。
同局ウェブサイトに掲載された発表文によると、米東部標準時７日午後１１時５９分にＵＳＡＩＤの全ての直接雇用職員は全世界で休職となり、一部の職員のみ対象外となる。
米議会調査局（ＣＲＳ）によると、ＵＳＡＩＤの職員総数は１万人以上で、その約３分の２が海外で勤務している。ＵＳＡＩＤには６０以上の国と地域のミッションがある。
海外にいるＵＳＡＩＤ職員のために、政府は国務省と連携して計画を準備しており、３０日以内に米国に帰国する職員の旅費を負担するという。
