[ワシントン １日 ロイター] – 米軍は１日、アフリカ東部ソマリアで過激派組織「イスラム国」（ＩＳ）の幹部らを標的に空爆を実施し、多くのメンバーを殺害した。トランプ大統領が発表した。
ヘグセス国防長官は、ゴリス山地で空爆を実施したとし、初期評価によると多数の戦闘員が殺害されたと述べた。民間人に被害はなかったという。
トランプ氏はトゥルース・ソーシャルへの投稿で「洞穴に隠れていたこれらの殺人者らは、米国や米同盟国を脅かした」とし、「空爆で洞穴を破壊し、民間人にいっさい危害を加えることなく、多くのテロリストを殺害した」と述べた。
ソマリア大統領府はモハムド大統領が空爆について報告を受けたと発表。同大統領は「テロとの戦いにおける米国の揺るぎない支援」に深く感謝するとⅩに投稿した。
