[ニューヨーク ２４日 ロイター] – 米実業家のイーロン・マスク氏がソーシャルメディアのＸを買収する際に資金提供した銀行団が、最大３０億ドルの融資を売却する準備を進めている。状況に詳しい関係者２人が２４日語った。
モルガン・スタンレー(MS.N), opens new tabは、来週予定されている売却について投資家と連絡を取っているという。
米紙ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナルによると、額面１ドル当たり０．９０─０．９５ドルでの売却が想定されている。
マスク氏は同紙の報道を「誤っている」と否定し、Ｘに同紙は「嘘をついている」と投稿した。
同紙はマスク氏がＸのスタッフに宛てた電子メールを引用しているが、同氏は「そんなメールは送っていない」と否定した。
モルガン・スタンレー、バンク・オブ・アメリカ(BAC.N), opens new tab、バークレイズ(BARC.L), opens new tabなどの金融機関は２０２２年、マスク氏がＸを４４０億ドルで買収した際に融資を提供した。
銀行は通常こうした債権を早期に売却するが、Ｘ買収関連の融資については困難に直面している。マスク氏が買収後に多くの従業員を解雇したことや、Ｘに暴言を投稿したことなどを受けて広告主が離れ、売り上げが落ち込んだ。結果としてＸがデフォルト（債務不履行）に陥るリスクが高まり、銀行団が抱える債権の価値が低下していた。
