トランプ関税による貿易戦争、世界経済に「壊滅的」影響＝ＷＴＯ事務局長

［ジュネーブ／ダボス（スイス）　２３日　ロイター］ – 世界貿易機関（ＷＴＯ）のオコンジョイウェアラ事務局長は２３日、トランプ米大統領の関税引き上げ案がもたらす報復的な貿易戦争は世界経済の成長に壊滅的な結果をもたらすとの見方を示すとともに、各国に報復関税を控えるよう求めた。

オコンジョイウェアラ氏は世界経済フォーラム（ＷＥＦ）の年次総会（ダボス会議）で、仮に報復措置を講じれば、関税率が２５％であろうと６０％であろうと１９３０年代のような状況に逆戻りし、「世界の国内総生産（ＧＤＰ）の損失は２桁に上る」と指摘。その上で「その代償を全ての人が払うことになる」と述べた。

米国は１９３０年、大恐慌を受けて国内産業保護を優先するスムート・ホーリー法を制定。関税を大幅に引き上げたことが世界経済をさらに悪化させた経緯がある。

オコンジョイウェアラ氏はＷＴＯ加盟国に対し、関税が賦課されても他の解決手段があるとした上で、「冷静さを保ってほしい」と訴えるとともに、ＷＴＯの紛争解決制度を活用するよう求めた。
