Dr Rajeev Jayadevan speaks on HMPV spread. India is fully prepared to manage respiratory illnesses with surveillance mechanisms indicating no unusual surge in cases, the Union Health Ministry on Saturday said amid global concerns of a coronavirus-like outbreak via Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV).
The ministry on Saturday conducted a joint monitoring group meeting to discuss the reports of rising cases of respiratory illnesses in China in the past few weeks.

Dr.Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the current director general of W.H.O is backed strongly by Xi Jinping the President of China. He initially had failed to put any pressure on the Chinese government to issue any travel ban and was reluctant to accept that the C-19 virus is a man-made virus which had originated in Wuhan. In the weeks, months and years that unfolded what the Chinese government declared as a "Viral Pneumonia" turned out to be COVID-19 which came to shape our lives and the world.
