I want to point out that the 120 isn't air it is voltage to the jet. Most fighters would handle about 50 to 70 psi of air and 120 volts electricity from age equipment.
Sadly, this is the only real CGI plane in the movie, at least in the air. There's no functional, flying F-14s in service, but they have a few decommissioned shells without engines or avionics. One is on the deck of the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, TX, painted up to look like the original F-14 from Top Gun, complete with Pete Mitchel's name on it.
So I remember when that audio leaked of cruise yelling because he was concerned about safety. It’s crazy to think this was made and viewed during a pandemic. I didn’t know the hundreds of strangers around me opening night but we were all locked it. No cell phones, no bs. I’d thank all involved for making this fine piece of American art.
It is hilarious to reliaze that at the moment Goose asked "You are not serious", was when Maverick already have measured with binoculars the distance between the fighter jet and the obstacle on the taxi way, and was god damn positive they can succesfuly take off…
Seeing each other again after a long time, those machines and his body quickly became one. Judging from his expression and quick reaction the moment you were running free in the sky. He could feel his body moving on its own. The warm gaze full of nostalgia when operating the machine, I thought Maverick's partner was not F18 That's just the old friend F14 Tomcat.

I like how he just sets the mode for displays and flips the TID switch then is magically ready to start the engines lol
“It’s been a minute, huh, Mav?” 😜
Yeah just walk to the F-14 like you own the joint!! Easy….
so old, but it would kick the crap still out of an f-18!
haha..Where did the Helmelts comes from?
There are 2 Fighting Planes i like most: The F-14 and the Tornado. And than The Phantome.
Based on the physics, the rear landing gear should have struck instead of the front.

Mav uses an MA-3D Air Conditioner to start an F14. Amazing! D.I.N.S.T.A.A.R.
Let's Go!🎉❤
Best scene of top gun Maverick!
STOL in an F-14. I love it.
When I was in the Navy, I worked on F14A, F14A+, B and D planes, The pilots really liked the GE engines on the B and D planes.
The hose is not disconnected.
Wouldn’t you think that MAV would have at least put full flaps down

Fun fact: if you watch closely, you can see this a movie and people need to stop pointing out every fucking flaw
