話題のアスリートの隠された物語を探る「スポーツアナザーストーリー」。今回は、全国都道府県対抗女子駅伝で快走を見せたドルーリー朱瑛里、ヒューストン・マラソンで優勝した新谷仁美ら、岡山から続々と輩出される「パイオニア・ランナー」と、岡山アスリートにまつわるエピソードを紹介する。
まさに風のような走り。陸上界に颯爽と登場したニューヒロインの名は、ドルーリー朱瑛里（しぇり）。1月15日、全国都道府県対抗女子駅伝、岡山代表の3区に出場した中学3年生は、38位でタスキを受けると区間3キロを9分2秒で駆け抜け、17人のごぼう抜き。これまでの記録を8秒更新する区間新記録の走りだった。 『自分の感覚を信じて、前を追って走った。一つでも順位を上げて、チームを勢いづけられるような走りをしたいと思っていた。うれしい』
