『奇人たちの晩餐会』は映画「Mr.レディMr.マダム」、「メルシィ！人生」など多くのコメディー映画の脚本を執筆し、フランス喜劇を代表する脚本家フランシス・ヴェベールが１９９８年に発表した作品です。パリでの初演で大好評を博し、さらにヴェベール自ら監督、脚本を手掛けて映画化。フランス映画界の名誉あるセザール賞で脚本賞、最優秀男優賞を受賞しました。２０１０年にはアメリカでも映画化されて大ヒットを記録。この度の上演において演出・山田和也と最高のスタッフ、キャストが集結！
The Dinner Game is a play by Francis Veber, a leading French comedy writer who wrote the screenplays for La Cage aux Folles, Le Placard, and many other comedies. First staged in 1998, it was met with great acclaim at its premiere in Paris, and was adapted into a film directed and written by Veber himself. In 2010, it was adapted once again, this time into a major hit movie in the U.S. This production brings together director Kazuya Yamada and a superb cast and crew!
（STORY）
パリに住む編集者のピエール（戸次重幸）にはひそかな趣味があった。それは毎週水曜、友人とディナーを取ること。しかし、そのディナーがかなり変わっている。主催者たちはそれぞれとっておきの変わり者ゲストを同伴。その中からキング・オブ・変人を決めるという非常に悪趣味な裏テーマがあった。これこそ“奇人たちの晩餐会”である。今回ピエールが選んだゲストは官庁に勤めるフランソワ（片岡愛之助）という男。彼はマッチ棒を３０万本以上使って巨大な模型を作る変人であった。ところがピエールに次々と災難がおこる。晩餐会の直前に強烈なギックリ腰に。さらにピエールの妻・クリスティーヌが去ってしまう。彼の悪趣味についていけなくなった為である。止むを得ず、ディナーをキャンセルしようとするが、なんとフランソワがアパートに現れる！フランソワの出現により、ピエールは人生最大の危機をむかえることに――。
Pierre (Shigeyuki Totsugi), an editor living in Paris, has a guilty pleasure. Every Wednesday, he has dinner with some friends. But these dinners are quite unusual. The hosts each bring along their own special, eccentric guests. The theme of the dinners is to select the king of the eccentrics from among the guests. On this occasion, Pierre choses a guest named François (Ainosuke Kataoka), who works for a government agency. He is an eccentric who uses more than 300,000 matchsticks to make a huge model. However, Pierre has a series of mishaps. Just before the dinner party, he suffers severe back pain. Furthermore, Pierre’s wife, Christine, leaves him. She can no longer put up with his distasteful hobby. He tries to cancel the dinner, but François already shows up at his apartment! The appearance of François plunges Pierre into the biggest crisis of his life…
