Would you cross the border for health care?
well the ipsos poll numbers are in and Canadians seem to have a bone to pick with aspects of the healthc care system number one Canadians don’t have a lot of faith that provincial governments are going to reduce ER wait times anytime soon number two for those who can cover the bill 63% would support private healthare number three 8 and 10 Canadians would support more virtual care options and number four 42% said they would pack up and head to the US for more timely care if they felt it was needed so we do you stand would you cross the border for healthcare
A recent Ipsos poll has revealed that many Canadians are unhappy with the long wait times at emergency rooms, with 42 per cent saying they would cross the border to the U.S. in search of better health care. The poll also found that 63 per cent of Canadians would support private healthcare if they could afford it. #healthcare #betterhealthcare #Crossingborderforhealthcare

The fact that they think coming to the U.S. is the best option. 😂
No, I'm not a millionaire…
Won't touch American healthcare. I'd like to see the demographics of this poll. Who was polled? How many? Age/income/nationality/province of residence? Financial state?
I've crossed the border before and have received excellent care
I know people who got cancer and had to wait weeks to get follow up scans. Paid and went to the US and were seen next day with top notch treatment. Buy a critical illness policy and use it to pay for private medical. It could save your life.
Do Canadians pay 20% of any size medical bill? In the USA, you go broke in the last 3 years of your life for medical bills
Would you cross the border for health care? Let us know! https://globalnews.ca/news/10322678/health-care-canada-us-ipsos-poll/
Careful what you wish for. I've lived in usa with private insurance and though the quality of care as good and timely, it was a huge monthly expense. The canadian universal system is far from perfect and has many areas in need of improvement but is ultimately better than a private system. Maybe we need to remedy our current fiscal outlook to better reflect the populations priorities? ie less money for subsidizing businesses who don't need tax breaks when their executives give themselves millions in bonuses.
Yet Global is right there to criticize Alberta for doing the Exact same as Quebec to have a Private short list instead of going to the US…
Propaganda Global "news" hypocrites.
😢
So who was polled. People who have signed up to participate?
As someone who recently went into the US for timely cancer surgery, yes we sure did pack up and get care. Retirement money doesn't mean anything if there isn't anyone to retire.
Head to the US?? Lol
100% percent of Canadians want Trudeau behind bars.
Health care in Canada is horrible and if you’re in Emergency (god forbid🤞) at least 4-8 hours is normal wait.
So they think an insurance company will get them the treatment they need? 😅😂🤣🥲🤧 right😂🤣😂🤣😂
That is one things important for health care at the border of canadian
If I wasn't being so heavily wronged, mislead, misinformed and abused by our current healthcare cult of forced intimidation and coercion and placed in a position I can't otherwise I would have years ago. The twisted scandal enwrapping Alberta health, the legal court system, lawyers, specialists and more is 100% medical assault enforced by the pen and political opinions controlling policy and protocol designed to profiteer without any reasonable results in anyway but questioning it gets a pen put to your head as they tell you they could destroy you even more with the damage the accident did. Personal Injury law is a joke and nothing but forced none effective medical help and to top it off insurance also helps bully you as they will cut you off early wrongfully just for refusing what doctors said is the next step but not likely to help. So why take the risk well because they will ruin you for not taking the treatments that are more likely to do harm then good I'm talking from experience. Working through the nightmare to date.
In Canada the medical system wants you sick as long as possible, it's a profitable model
I am thinking about it and since my father in law is from the states … YES I’m debating because the care here in Canada is killing people and sending the bulk of us who have chronic pain conditions into depression .
Let’s not find the cause of the pain , or we know the cause but we think you could be depressed . There is a possibility that antidepressants make your pain condition worse , you should eat more , eat less , be more active – not too active ( because of your condition ) ohhh I can keep going on and on .
There are thousand of young Canadians who live with conditions that are not being treated for correctly.
Patients with EDS who get told there is not much help , it’s all about staying active – but let’s ignore the severity of the pain that goes with EDS .
So at what point is our Canadian medical system going to see a reform . How many more people have to die from conditions that could have been treated .
Able bodied does not mean we are able to keep living in pain – I know that for myself , after 38 years of this and 15 of those years fighting for answers … our medical system has been slowly gone down hill and this was prior to Covid .
They treat what they know , if they don’t know much about a condition – you’re left to keep fighting to push past the pain .
The oath they take , the words spoken during that oath , they are empty , they are falsehoods, they have been betrayed and many patient have as well .
I mean, conservative governments KEEP CUTTTING healthcare to try and force a private option. It doesn't have to be like this. The Alberta cons have bungled it so catastrophically, I can't believe that it wasn't on purpose.
Slow down on the immigration please! We are suffering so bad in Canada! Nobody will ever be able to buy homes. Stop the insanity! Healthcare crisis, education crisis, justice crisis, and the housing crisis!
Stop the insanity!
