Pacific Rim: Uprising followed five years later in 2018, directed by Steven S. DeKnight and starring John Boyega, Charlie Day, Cailee Spaeny, and Scott Eastwood. Both films tell stories of pilots who operate gigantic robot suits called Jaegers. The Jaegers were created to fight the alien Kaiju, who rose from the seas with the intention of destroying all life.

This movie introduced an interesting concept with the Jeagers controlled by a Kaiju brain, but flopped on the presentation. I mean, we came to watch robots fight monsters, not colossal battlebots!

Man, I love this new power rangers film that’s completely unrelated to the Pacific Rim series.
There is no longer that heaviness and agility that Del Toro gave, in the second part it’s like ninja toys are fighting, and the plot is stupid)))
If the film had focused on these two rather than the annoying cadets it would’ve been a lot better. Also the sound design was spot on in this film

1:39 One little detail that I’m mildly annoyed about is that, in the first movie, to go underwater, the Jaegers had to seal all openings and ports to ensure that the Jaegers wouldn’t be flooded. However, in this movie, they said “F the tiny details that made the first movie so great, let’s just throw them under the water and hope that all of those very exposed sensitive electronics make it out alive!”
