Poor Ishikawa..hope people are okay.
It's crazy To think How many earthquakes they get each day
Ever since 1/1/24, I've been watching Jquake to see if there will be another strong quake. I pray for Japan. I am sorry to see them hit again so soon.
I wonder what geological substrate Ishikawa is built on.
I live in the Bay Area in California and took a few geology classes in college. The town I live in was built on softer material and reacts more when there's an earthquake. We were recently hit with a 4.2 earthquake ourselves and it originally pinged as a 5.7 in ShakeAlert. I'm inclined to believe that it's the same situation in Ishikawa, but will be doing some research in order to back that up.
