Re-watched the whole series. This ending is always so moving. I cried yet again. One of the best endings. Tohru really kept her promise to stay with him and Kyo always protected her. I really love this series. ❤❤❤
Maybe it’s just me but I had always wished she ended up with yuki🥺 they seem to have better chemistry. Although by her admiring the cat it made sense for the writer to put her with Kyo I’m assuming.
The best fking ending ever I got to see their future and they have their own kids and are living happy. I couldn't ask for a better ending knowing this. Now I can rest easy and watch another anime! 😂

I personally don't like endings with characters that are old because it gives me a feeling of nostalgia. I normally feel sad once reach the end of a story and seeing the characters I came to love being old makes me sadder. "THE END" really hits home because with old age the characters are basically at deaths door. To me ending a story with the characters still being young feels happier because their lives continues after "THE END"
I think i am gonna watch this anime again!!! Tbh i agree with people here that this whole anime had a rollercoaster journey and we all could relate with the characters in some or the other way! I just finished this anime today like ig i started watching it 2 days back cuz i finished watching inu X boku ss and i remember me sulking over that anime too cuz i get attached to quickly i don't know if that's a bad habbit or what but i don't like me being an emotional mess after watching something nice like i should be motivated or like i should feel fresh and happy but i always end up crying or not being able to focus on anything around me for days! And that's one of the reason i found this amazing anime FRUITS BASKET i remember how i was crazily searching on google some similar anime to inu X boku ss and i found so many but still i didn't liked any of the recommendations and i left every recommend anime midway or like on 2nd episode!! Then while watching the AMVs of my favourite animes i found the AMV of fruits basket and then i commented on that particular video and then someone recommended me to watch this! I wish i didn't had finished it so soon! I wish i had started with the 2001 version first so i could watch the 2019 one afterwards!!!! But now after completing all the three seaons and the prelude movie i have nothing else left to watch! Tbh i only watched this anime for tohru and kyo! I ALWAYS shipped them even when people were like yuki fits tohru better but cuz i already knew tohru is gonna end up with kyo! Like i already knew the storyline even before watching the anime but still it was worth watching! I was so obsessed with tohru and kyu that's why i skipped the other parts just to watch the parts where kyo and tohru are together and that's one of the reasons why i finished it too quickly but now i feel like i shouldn't have skipped it like ik i love tohru and kyo but the other parts and characters were worth watching too! This anime really gives so many life lessons and i wanna understand the anime with depth too that makes me wanna rewatch it! And i agree with people here too that the way they ended up showing kyo ans tohru old is so beautiful like it shows that they lasted for their eternity but a part of me wanted to see their young days too like a little romance! Like they hadn't showed that properly like whatever they showed us was wholesome but still i little bit of spice wouldn't hurt and also their after married life! Like they had kids and them reuniting with the other zodiac spirit members! Like they all had been together all this time so they could have showed them all growing old together!
