Karen did it better tbh. Reina has better singing technique (that vibrato was something awesome) but i felt more emotions in Karen's. Also i've heared lots of people said Karen is worse because of the singing. Well, yes Reina really has way more experience and her pitch is perfect but if you're not biased because she is a better pop singer you can enjoy Karen's version as much or more than Reina's since even Karen's voice itself fits the character more than Reina's higher pitch and maybe even for musical in general. I feel like Karen's voice is simply plain when singing pop songs (still much better than most idols) but in this she is so hella suitable. I don't know which one is the better actress because i didn't find the 2021 version yet but Karen did this scene amazingly.
i know reina is more popular and all but just watch karen's without bias. as a singer reina might be better of course but it's not about who has better vibrato. the way karen sings like a whisper and the emotions she puts into it are more important in musical than technique and decorations.
Reina was more consistent as expected but even tho she has some good facial expressions usually she rarely put emotions into her voice, her expressiveness is not on the same level as her vocal technique. Karen was just perfect. Excellent acting skills. Just listen the pain and concern in her voice, this makes you more sad than the original Regret message.

れいなさんはサビ前のビブラート綺麗で、じっと一点を見つめているところが堂々としていて芯があるけどそれがどこか切なくて、富も地位もそして優秀な召使いであり唯一の家族だったアレンさえも失ってしまったけど、同じ過ちを繰り返さず、自分を守ってくれたアレンのためにも真っ当に生きようという強い意志が感じられて、カレンさんは囁くような歌声の緩急の付け方が上手で、表情から全て折れそうなくらい儚い雰囲気があって、アレンを失うきっかけを作ってしまった過去の自分に対する後悔、そしてその現実を受け入れられないまだ幼さが残るリリアンヌの心が表現されてる感じ(語彙力なくてごめんなさい)
れいなさんは強き媚ない先代女王を目指した、誰よりも高貴で尊く孤高で、王座を追われてもその気品が褪せる事の無い、元王女リリアンヌ。
カレンさんは暴君王女であったが、その本質は所詮ひとりぼっちの幼い14歳に過ぎず、居場所も地位も唯一の家族も失った孤独の少女リリアンヌ。
どちらも原作のリリアンヌが持つ二面性をそれぞれ表現していて凄い。
…実物見てみたかったな。

田中れいな、めっちゃ可愛いけどただ歌ってるだけだな〜これだと。もう1人の方は自分のせいできょうだいが死んだっていう絶望と後悔がよく伝わる歌い方だと思う。名前知らなかったけど。
