I like the traditional roofline and placement of the buildings overlooking the harbor. Very pretty, more Japanese than the 1950s buildings that were built since WWII. I must visit beautiful Japan someday.
You are loved , Japanese people. I wished part of the museum on the water front , could have been kept. I still watch these videos , due to the strength of the water. It is mind blowing sending continued love and prayers to all as survivors, will never be able to live completely in peace
I wonder how many survivors no longer feel safe living in a coastal area after the horrific destruction of their entire communities in a matter of minutes!
The only certainty is that there will be further earthquakes and tsunamis in the future!

日本現在只能以觀光業和服務業為生，復興的速度真慢，可悲的國家。

映像を見る限り災害公営住宅も高台に建設されて、少なくとも低地に建設されているのは商業施設だけで、新規住居は高台にある。今の状況なら再び大津波が来ても死者は最少にとどめられると思うが、この先数十年、数百年経過して記憶が風化して、また低地に住居が戻らない事を祈る。
どんなに不便だろうが女川に住む以上は、住居は高台に設置というのは死守すべきかと思う。商業施設等は低地でも仕方ないかと。
いち早く立ち直った普代村を参考にした町作りを。漁港や商業施設が損害を被っても、生活の場で在る家々が無事なら被害を最小に留める事が可能なはずです。
先週行ってきました。
とても美しい街でした。
もう一度行きたいな
女川町の復興は素晴らしいですね。
しかし津波の被害を受けた地域が堤防を整備しないとなると次回津波が来た場合、住民たちの避難が間に合わない可能性があります。東日本大震災では都市型津波が大変話題になっていると聞いていますがビルが津波の威力(水圧)を大きく殺したため電柱につかまっていたら助かる可能性がありました、しかしビル街も消滅したいまの状況では津波による被害は計り知れません。
また少し専門的な話になりますが、黒い津波という海中のヘドロ(1/1,000㍉ほどの微粒子)を巻き込んだ津波があります。津波の水圧を10%増加、浮力を二倍以上に増加、さらに津波肺という肺の病気(黒い津波は大量の微粒子からできているので、微粒子が気管や肺に入り込んだ場合肺炎になります。また微粒子のため肺にくっつき水では流れないのでなおる可能性が大幅に低下します)
わたし個人の意見としては女川町ふくめ、すべての津波浸水区域から住民を撤退させ、津波浸水区域には地価やなんやらを安くして津波が来ても大丈夫、逃げる自信はあるし責任は自己負担でも、という人を住ませるべきだと思う。それに津波後の世代は津波の禍根はないので、移住する人が増える。少なくとも今回の津波が浸水した区域は長い目で見た満潮だろう。

Sooner or later there will be another tsunami. Why rebuild near the bay??

母の実家が女川にありました。
震災以降足が遠のいていましたが今年の春に9年振りに行ってきました。
｢夢を語れ女川｣という二郎系のラーメンを食べるために行ったのですが、地域の復興を目の当たりにして感動しました。
｢おんまえや｣というスーパーも今年に出来上がっていましたし、よく行っていた｢ゆぽっぽ｣も女川駅の2階にあり、どんどん次なる女川に進化していっている感じがしてこれからの更なる復興も楽しみです。
大学で女川駅前の電線は地下に張り巡らされていて、電線が地上にあまり見えないようにしてより明るく見えるようにしているとも学びました。
地域の方々がより住みやすい町になっていってほしいです。

I wish i knew the name of this city. It was one of the worst hit areas The damage was beyond hideous – i am impressed by the strength of the people

海と生きるってことは防災をすればいいってもんじゃないもんな…景観とかの問題もあるし、作らないのも選択の一つだろう。
私のイトコが女川に、住んでいます。
鷲の神と言う所に住んでいますが、幸いにして被害は、無かった様でしたが、もう👤一人のイトコは、🏚が流されて、仮設住宅だと、姉、兄達の話しを聞かされました。
実際に、訪ねて見ると、🏗工事中だった事もあり、フェンスで、🌊海も見れませんでした。
こうして、新たに、女川が徐々に復興する事は、大きな喜びです。
東北の👤人は、底力が強いのです。
女川の町を活性化する様、がんばって下さい。
