My favorite tiny detail of this fight, is whenever Shishio's sword is "close enough to camera", it's shown to be serrated (best example at 0:04) since that's how Shishio stores the oil on the blade.
0:08 I like that look of absolute concentration and ever so slight panic as Shishio contends with the raw power of the strike. At the same time, it also makes me realize Hiko would have absolutely crushed Shishio with that first strike due to his much greater mass and speed.
I can't f*cking wait to see this in the remake, i love how the new anime make kenshin attacks so powerful and fast with that silver wind effect, the heavy metallic sound and smooth animation. It feels the impact of the sakabato, like man, kenshin is beaten guys with a piece of metal and that probably hurts… A LOT! And before someone complain about the "changes" the 2023 anime is doing, they adapting the manga 1:1, so what you see in the new anime is what the manga have (reason because a lot of scenes of the 96 anime don't exist in the remake, they where original).
I don't understand why they doubt if Kenshin will go from the left or the right. I mean, how could he do that technique from the right if the sword is in his left side and he pulls it with his right hand?
The strenght of that technique is the explosive speed, the timing and the distance measuring, just like in real life martial arts.
the animation of old Rurouni Kenshin really never gets old, i love the CG touches of it, the blue slash, the blue blinking circular void, the japanese kanji texts, the manga-like panels, just wow…
Can we just imagine if Kenshin was not peaceful? If he still remained the Battousai? Shishio would've been cut in half. All of his battles would be over in under a minute.

一つ一つの動きは超スローで描いているけど、カットインを高速挿入したり技名を読ませる気のない速度で挟むことで、違和感なく迫力出ているのが凄い

Love how the attack is supposed to be almost instant but Shishio has time for like 20 seoncds of internal dialogue.
This show doesnt need a low budget remake.
Ngl i read the manga but the anime looks absolutely beautiful compared to the stuff thats out there today. Will watch soon..
