At 20:50 on Sunday, 24th today, the evacuation alert level of Sakurajima was raised from level 3 (mountain entry restrictions) to level 5 (evacuation). This is the first time that Sakurajima has reached level 5 since the eruption alert level was set.

Someone just made a YouTube video a few days ago about all the stray cats that live by the volcano and are cared for by the locals. Anyone who's near there, when you evacuate please take some of these cats. The person who made the cat video has comments turned off on their channel, or I'd ask them to do it, because apparently they're right by there.
