Awesome movie about rekindling old friendships and testing then maxing out your abilities to achieve the impossible. The storyline also did a great job outlining the conflict of interest between naval command who were only interested in achieving demolition objectives, and veterans of the top gun school who were equally concerned about welfare of the pilots. Great and elaborately thought-out realistic action sequences at the end.
It’s so dead easy to see why the CRUISE / McQUARIE machine took a home run HIT this year & made $ 1.38 billion at the box office. This actor is Hollywoods most bankable asset since FORVER. I was so, so very skeptical with all the hype & trailers about this sequel & yet I found myself in a place, in a cinematic space – WRAPPED UP in this film that indeed belongs on the big screen. Can’t even remember the last time I cheered for the protagonist, laughed at great one liners, dug my nails into the seat at the suspense and story that took you – the audience for the RIDE of your life & yet there was CRUISE putting us in that CINEMA SEAT once more. I’ll be the 1 st to eat my words. This GENIUS (Tom Cruise) really knows what audiences want & deserve in a story & MAVERICK hits every note on that keyboard of cinema success. 10/10 …WE SALUTE YOU TOM! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🎥🖋🌞

I saw both 1989 and this year's Top Gun, and without being biased, the latter is superior: the aerial fight scenes are better, the story is never boring, and the daughter of Penny is particularly attractive.

Nice movie but it doesn't reflect real life modern air combat .No modern army fly low level to attack a targets anymore, thats what cruise missiles are designed for!, B2 spirt with laser guided bombs can do the job too. Plus the fact that radar systems can be fitted to planes to cover air to ground targets (Awacs ) . With development of f35 and f22 raptors , dogs fights are rare to non as fighter jets can not detect each other in sky . Flying low is not an option for the us navy for more than 20-30 years as there is no need to do that to attack a target , this is also to avoid planes and pilots loses, the last war that witnessed many dog fights and low level flying to avoid radar was the 1990 Golf war!

My family all went to see this and they’re there rn and they bought the tickets earlier but when the time came I didn’t want to go. So I’m home alone laying in bed not wanting to do anything because of depression. I feel bad for not going but laying in bed feels good in a bad way
