  1. IMO, one of the biggest changes Bushiroad NEEDS to make is cutting the cord with Furyu for development of the CFV Video Games. I saw the $70 Price Tag on Dear Days and IMMEDIATELY drew it up as Furyu challenging us to prove that we truly wanted an English version of the CFV Video Games. You can’t convince me otherwise. The fact that Dear Days was released a day before Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is no mere coincidence (Furyu had to have known this would kill sales). Furyu is ACTIVELY trying to kill interest in CFV in the west.

  2. Overdress seemed like a very interesting format with many various ride line skills. But then everything changed again when gears chronicle had to come back to this format and that was the last straw. Boycott gear chronicle

  3. I hope that This game survives, truly this is the most fun I've had in a cardgame in so long, things could Get better by fixing dumb mechanics like the overtrigger, and having a more reprint sets so players can play what they want and those promos are mad dumb they should just be alternative arts or sm not deck staples

  4. I wish these types of games did better then the big 3, solely cause games like vanguard are actually fun, I don't belive nostalgia is the only thing that should keep a game alive, being nostalgic dosen't make it perfect. I like games that try unique things and even fix older card game problems. And I personally want nothing to do with the big 3 anymore.

  5. I feel that the over trigger is a big pain I mean it's does some what help but then I feel like it's not needed to begin with

  6. I love vanguard… but boy I'm dropping it. After the previous director left so many issues have been surfacing. Your video explained it well looking forward to seeing new content from you. Are you doing OP?
Also my state is one of the biggest for vanguard play and one of the biggest vanguard shops just pulled out of it so yeah worried lol.

  7. There are too many card games being published. There's an oversaturation of the market.Honestly i don't think Digimon,One Piece or Battle Spirits Saga will survive in the long run , especially now that yugioh retro formats are starting to see more play due to them being cheap and fun at the same time .

  8. $200-400 for a deck is ridiculous pricing when a game like digimon can get you most decks for $100-$150 or less

  9. This card game desperately needs a online dueling simulator as well. This may seem little but in reality this how people can get into the card games or give a try if they can't find anyone in person to play with. Sadly it just dosen't have the fan base to have a fan made simulator made or a good ran company to have a official out there. Personally when it came to mtg, pokemon or ygo this is how I was able to get into them as I could take my physical deck and try it out online and confirm how the rules work and if I loved the game or not. I just believe without a dueling simulator or some sort it causes mass miscommunication with the player base and allows it to be gate kept to an extent as there is nothing guide you into this game.

I've been a card fight vanguard fan since the first anime came out, but I never was actually able to play it until Deardays came out as it it hard to find a fanbase in person. That's nearly 8 years of waiting just to try a game I've been interested in since forever. Sadly I know majority won't play 70 dollars to play it though as the price is completely bonkers and spite to the face, espically after they cancelled the free dueling simulator they were supposed to have for this overpriced game. What's sad is that it's not even bad

  10. The overdress reboot destroyed Vanguard in my country forever, whatever I did, it was already over.

  11. I mean, Bushiroad has nothing to blame for this, other than themselves. The rebooted the game twice already, and though i know previous release cards are still legal to play in a certain format, people's prior Ideas of the status co and how set rotation works shouldn't surprise many that regular people assume that old cards just have no competitive value anymore. Not especially when Bushiroad has a history of just flat out Cancelling cardgame IP's as much as they Vomit a new one. They are actually at strike 3 as they already cancelled 3 games already (Luck and Logic, Dragoborn, and the most recent, Buddy Fight). Speaking of which, this Habit of Bushiroad to cancel TCG's just paint the entirety of the company as Lacking Commitment, and that is why Players and Local shop alike just have a general stigma to anything that has the Bushiroad brand on it. The constant fear that cards can suddenly lose their value when Bushiroad decided to prematurely cancel a card game, considering their track record, just makes any of their product that aint Weiß Schwarz a financial risk. Not to mention that Vanguard has no idea how to manage powercrept, leaning to the popular "invisible 1 year expiration date" of Vanguard cards(atleast on my country). Though i'll be honest with you, i do not see this changing any time soon. Even in overdress, players are already complaining that Bushiroad learned nothing. Many players i talk to complain that cards can be powercrept even with just the next expansion, and that unless the card is foil, many cards has no Collection, nor competitive value. Honest to goodness here, the future is grim for vanguard.

  12. The first time I ever tried Vanguard I hated it. I hated the drive checks, and I hated when you wouldn't get a grade 1-3 when you needed on to ride during your ride phase, but I tried it again with the release of overdress and it became my favorite card game, there really is nothing else like it. that being said, I cannot stand overtriggers, its really the only thing I dislike in standard. I also think early on it was super affordable, my friend and I built almost every deck from set 1, but set 4 was when everything changed imo. Also I want to say its not bushi that priced dear days so high, i think it was the publisher or developer, not sure, but reagardless yeah its BS pricing (I could be wrong on this part though)

  13. The community became hella elitist and gate-keepy. Also Vanguard has the worst secondary market, it's ridiculous that each of the RRRs for the Youthberk deck are $25-$32 dollars a piece.

  14. I quit because shadow paladins kept getting rebooted. The constant reboots were dumb. The show is trash now.

  15. I played the G, V, and the D format, i feel like the G still the best one due its balanced and long term of enjoyable back and forth gameplay.

    Rant Warning:

however the V for me still better than D, sure the META is absurd and extremely dominant but if you play casually some non meta deck even considerable good and some might even counter the specific meta deck.

now lastly the D series, i extremely agree with overtrigger, i hate it so much especially each clan has different effect for example brant gate overtrigger is absurdly insane like litteraly most of the time it can make the front row to win the game if you aren't ready for it. (its like fighting G stride morfessa in G era, or pearl sisters in V series)

Other than overtrigger the problem with D series is the "First turn advantage" whoever can ride grade 4 or pesona turn first most likely win, this problem also happened in V series with their imaginary gift, but not as impactful as D series, and the you didn't get the 5000 shield if you ride during second turn, just draw.

That leads to either you might die at enemy pesona ride overkill damage, or grade 4 insane skills, or you already took 5 damage in grade 2 due lack of early defense (grade 1 is 5000 shield value unlike V is 10000).

    Edit:

About dear days, im actually giving it a positive review, like come on we never had a suported Vanguard games compared to EX which abandoned and ZERO (Oh boy…). Sure the pricing is 💀, but you unlocked all of the cards from single pack to be crafted or get in the game without another irl money, compared to a pack irl which cost more for building single deck, since dear days keep getting update i think its a bless for us, I don't know how long they will keep updating the game but if they stopped updating like abandoned vanguard EX im gonna dissapointed alot. (I still don't think it will not abandoned due EX doesn't have DLC)

  16. The Eva promo is 24 dollars, promos are always expensive when they drop and fall as people pull them. Premium is not a format for new players it's like legacy for magic players , every new player should get into standard where you can pick up a 5 buck magnolia or seraphim deck and spend 100 bucks and be tourney ready

  17. reason why vanguard is not a good card game…. 1. ITS NOT MAGIC THE GATHERING

  18. The beginning this was an absolutely fun games to play with friends however unfortunately i feel overwhelmed they have overloaded the format with grade 4 and i just didnt feel like playing anymore things like legion and stride made it a completely different game than what i was used to maybe someday i will play it if they didnt price it at 70 dollars in steam

  19. 1) The toxic fanbase who if a card doesn't add to the "meta" or redefines the "meta" a card is trashy pack filler; and if you're not using a hyper optimal build you are a trashy scrub noob.

    2) The V series was horrendously rushed

    3) Lack of video games in english (say what you will about pokemon and yugioh, at least they gave us DS players somthing(s) (I know a new game in english is out, but I mean for the hyped V and Stride eras)

    4) The fact that there is no balance in terms of support for the clans. 5 or so will constantly get support and one gets ridiculous OP support twice a year and makes everyone have to play aggressive catch up.

    5) The pigeonholing of the clans, I am not saying you cannot have sub-clans/archetypes; but something is wrong when the only support a clan gets is for said archetype/sub-clam. (Shadow Paladin, Link Joker); isn't the game supposed to be a "build it your way" sort of thing and IF one wants to use very specific cards it's the Individual Players choice?

    6) At least some of those promo cards should be put into a regular booster set at a later date with alternate artwork or something.

    7) Are clan booster (collection of "insert your clan here") packs a thing irl, cause if not they should be. Just have a hand full of cards the boosters have that are not in the collection packs and vice versa.

    8) I know this one will be controvercial for sure; but I believe they should introduce a few more clans:
Star Gate could use one that has Protect; Zoo could use one that is Accel; Dark Zone could maybe use the fan made one that I've heard about on the fan site; Magallanica could use one that is considered Force that would be an actual clan and not that fanservice mermaid meta breaking mess.

    9) I will hazard a guess and say that while D-Series does seem fun, people are probably turned off by the fact it seems more like "Duel Masters" and less of "this 20+ clan each with their own personality and flavor" unique card game.

  20. Vanguard maybe my 3rd favorite card game (first and second is YGO and Buddyfight) but man thats sad hearing it kinda dying, I can see the fun in them (also prison are meta for some reason, time to get back I guess)

(PS. In Thailand VG are truly the most played TCG here)

  21. I stopped at Limit Break lol. The introduction of Aqua Force was what got me into Vanguard but for a kid at the time, money was a big issue. Then came along Link Joker, ah man. That was the first instance of power creep imo cos the Lock mechanic totally annihilated my ability to move Units around, which was basically the only strat AF had at the time 🤣 now my local card shop is a generic coffee stop.

  22. I JUST PLAYED CARDFIGHT VANGUARD FOR THE FIRST TIME BY PLAYING DEAR DAYS, AND IN THE TUTORIAL YOU LOSE… BUT YOU LOSE CAUSE OF A FCKING CARD THAT GIVES OUT 100 MILLION POWER… IM LIKE WHAT KIND OF BUUUUUUU

  23. I miss the old vanguard, things were much more simple.. started playing with friends when the original series came out up until legion era

  24. I had a locals and was strongly supporting the game and was hosting multiple day events and tournaments. I even asked what the majority wanted in terms of days for vanguard specifically and what to expect when entering tournaments. Sadly no one showed up. Now I’m very familiar with everyone in my area and outside that involves vanguard. All them that helped promote and have voted for days they could attend vanguard days never showed up. Even after I made it all week thing to see what days are good no one showed. Worse part after everything the same people who have claimed that they’re willing to go ask me “ do you know where we can play vanguard?” I give them an address and yet nothing. My experience has been horrible when I supply everything from fair prices, exclusive prizes for tournaments, promos, weekly events, and always have a constant and heavy amount of supply sealed and singles. Still nothing. Although the number of customers I see throughout the year are very consistent and very deep into the meta game. But to have them attend for any god given reason is too much ask for.

  25. This may go against what most other players feel like but I'm glad Bushiroad is struggling with Vanguard.
They ruined the game by rebooting into Overdress and removing the classic clan division. I don't want to play my deck using cards that don't match the theme.
Hopefully they learn their lesson eventually.

  26. The overall tournament structure for Cardfight!! Vanguard is absolutely terrible where it's Best of One Single or Double Elimination instead of the way Alter Reality Games (ARG) had it where shop tournaments for Vanguard were Best 2 out of 3 Swiss rounds with Single or Double Elimination ONLY in Top Cut. I get that it's not how it's played in the Anime / Manga series but it makes it to where the game isn't as luck based in terms of feeling like you've actually won with skill.
