I was right. I find Koguma my type. I know I seen familiar girls like her in different animes. Nayuki from Kanon, Yuuka from Circlet Princess and Mei from Citrus.
They never explain why Koguma is all alone in the Anime, but in the Manga it explains that her father died and her mother abandoned her as she was getting into high school. She actually had to talk to local officials and she ended up on scholarship at the high school she is at and has a living stipend. Which is why she is all alone.
