『ペンギン・ハイウェイ』で第42回日本アカデミー賞優秀アニメーション作品賞を受賞し、『泣きたい私は猫をかぶる』も手がけたスタジオコロリドの長編アニメーション映画第3弾。
夏休みのある日、取り壊し前の団地へ訪れた航祐たち。そこで突然、不思議な現象に巻き込まれる。
気づくとそこには、あたり一面の大海原が広がっていた。

    Netflix sure gets us excited with their anime series and film licenses and I'm so pumped on their licensing acquisition on the film Drifting Home.

    I'm going to get so emotional watching this film especially seeing the friendship of Kōsuke and his friends.

    When i was a kid, i have a dream like this. My house became a ship and sailed across the beautiful calm sea. Still remember it till this day. Looking forward to see this movie.

    Penguin Highway is pretty darn good, but A Whisker Away was honestly not that great so I hope they rebound with this one.

    Ok just a teaser so can't really tell if I'd like it.

    A whiskey away was amazing!!, I only had one tiny gripe with it, the scene where the cat girl tells the boy that "they're human turned cats or the other way round" scene bit, we don't get to see any shock from the boy, instead the boy is really calm and cool like it's no big deal lol. They could have had a whole 5 minute funny scene of the kid freaking out and in disbelief, very comical style, THEN it could have cut away to the scene where he's cool about it. Apart from that I loved it. Saying that they could insert a scene for that into the movie if they wanted too, and really they should as that movie is really good, for me an 8/10, fix that one scene and it'll be a solid 9/10.
