イギリスではブラジルや南アフリカで特定された新型コロナウイルスの変異株の流行を抑えるため、一部地域で検査規模が拡大されている。
英ケントで発見された、従来の新型ウイルスよりも感染力が高い変異株は現在、イギリスで最も流行している新型ウイルスとなった。
研究者は、こうした変異株に対しても有効性が保たれるよう、ワクチンを修正しようとしている。
