俳優の阿部寛さんが出演する映画「エヴェレスト 神々の山嶺（いただき）」（平山秀幸監督、2016年3月12日公開）の特別映像が2月18日、公開された。特別映像「孤高の天才クライマー：羽生丈二という男」は阿部さん演じる天才クライマー・羽生丈二の「エベレスト」への“熱い思い”が存分に収められてる。
「エヴェレスト 神々の山嶺」は、夢枕獏さんの小説「神々の山嶺」が原作。エベレスト登頂に同行していた最中に滑落事故で仲間を失った山岳カメラマンが、天才クライマーといわれる男と、兄を雪山で失った女と出会いエベレスト登頂に挑む姿を描く。エベレスト史上最大の謎を追う野心的な山岳カメラマン・深町誠を人気グループ「V6」の岡田准一さん、山岳史上初の挑戦にとりつかれた孤高の天才クライマー・羽生丈二を阿部さん、羽生との登山中に兄を亡くした女性・岸涼子を女優の尾野真千子さんが演じる。

I'm reading now "the summit of the gods" by Taniguchi and Yumemakura and I find it to be one of the most intense story ever told. If you love mountains and challenges is a must read. I hope the movie will stand up to that, and that it will come out eventually here too, best if in original language with subtitles. Can't wait! Habu Joji is one hell of a character, love him.
