The flight was fully booked, but still, the new plane, new cabin, new seats, and the beautiful use of the Sky Interior&#8230; made this one a nice flight.<\/p>\n<p>However, and this is a &#8220;BIG HOWEVER&#8221; I&#8217;m not planning to fly Austrian&#8217;s B787 again. The crew blooks the windows in fully dim and they don&#8217;t unlock them until they decide it&#8217;s a good moment to do so. For this flight it worked more or less well, as the Sunset and Sunrise came exactly at the end of the dinner and with breakfast&#8230; but be ready to have flights in full darkness. Don&#8217;t count with me, Austrian.<\/p>\n<p>We took off to the west and after a 180\u00b0 turn, we started our route towards Vienna. The views of the airport and Chicago downtown just after takeoff were incredible. From there we flew towards Canada, where we found the night. The cross of the Atlantic was completely uneventful, as we couldn&#8217;t see anything with the blocked windows. Maybe there were some Borealis, as we were at a good latitude and the perfect moment of the year&#8230; but we&#8217;ll never know that, as Austrian doesn&#8217;t allow you to see anything outside the plane.<\/p>\n<p>Once over Europe, we enjoyed an amazing Sunrise over Germany and the Czech Republic. After a nice approach between clouds, we landed on time in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>About the catering service, they offered a main meal after departure and a little breakfast (very little) just before starting the descent to Vienna. The main meal was quite ok, but still nothing special. I would say the main meal was the best. The salad, flooded in mayonnaise, and the plain piece of cake they offered as dessert wasn&#8217;t special at all. The breakfast was just a small warm sandwich with coffee &#038; orange juice.<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s your turn!<br \/>\nHave you ever flown with Austrian? Which route? How was the experience?
