「スター・ウォーズ／マンダロリアン・アンド・グローグー」特別映像｜本作に登場する様々なクリーチャーたち｜5月22日（金）劇場公開！
これまで『スター・ウォーズ』では、ジェダイ・マスターのヨーダやウーキー族の戦士チューバッカ、ハン・ソロの大敵となるジャバ・ザ・ハットなど、数々のクリーチャーが人気を博してきた。
ジョン・ファヴロー監督が「私にとって『スター・ウォーズ』はクリーチャーがすべてだった。ひとつの世界として完璧に統一されていた」と語るように、『スター・ウォーズ』の世界においてクリーチャーは欠かせないキャラクターになっている。
そして本作でも、いたずら好きで食いしん坊なグローグーが登場し、大活躍を見せる。見た目は小さい子どもながらもその存在感は大きく、一目見たら誰もが心を鷲掴みにされてしまうはずだ。
マンダロリアンを演じたペドロ・パスカルはグローグーとの撮影を振り返り、「グローグーの話をすると胸が熱くなる。特別な絆を感じている。」と語り、また元反乱軍のパイロットにして、現在は新共和国の士官として帝国軍残党を追うウォード大佐役を演じたシガーニー・ウィーバーは「あの小さな顔を見たら誰もが恋に落ちるはず」とグローグーにメロメロの様子を見せる。
そんなグローグーの撮影には、主にパペットが使用されているという。複数人のスタッフがリモートでパペットの目や耳などを動かし、リアルに存在しているグローグーを撮影。キュートで愛らしさに溢れた仕草や表情が観る者の心を掴んで離さない。
本作にはグローグーだけでなく、マンダロリアンを絶体絶命のピンチに追い込む筋骨隆々のハット族ロッタ・ザ・ハットや、ジャバ・ザ・ハットのいとこであるハット・シスターとハット・ブラザー、しがない商店の店長にして裏社会にも精通した情報屋ヒューゴーなど、魅力的なクリーチャーがたくさん登場する。クリーチャーたちと一緒に『スター・ウォーズ』の世界をぜひ映画館で体験していただきたい。
