The second half of 2025 will see a string of highly anticipated Korean dramas. We’ll be introducing two particularly highly anticipated works, as well as the latest trailer for Anonymous Lovers, a Japanese-Korean co-production that’s sure to be a big hit this fall. The first is ” The Confidence Man KR,” a remake of “The Confidence Man JP” starring Park Min-young, known for her role in “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?”. Park Min-young plays Yoon Yilan, a former heiress of a wealthy family and a genius con artist with an IQ of 165. Joined by her as the leader, the humorous veteran con artist James and the lovable youngest brother, Myung Gu-ho, they launch brilliant scams targeting those who are beyond the reach of the law. We ‘re excited to see the trio’s exquisite chemistry, thrilling deceptions, and impressive cameo appearances. ♡ The 12-episode series will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting September 6th. The original remake, “The Confidence Man JP, ” aired on the Monday 9pm slot in 2018 and was written by Ryota Ozawa, best known for his work on “Legal High.” The trio, starring Masami Nagasawa as Darko , a wild character with genius abilities who can masquerade as any profession, teamed up with Masahiro Higashide as “Boku-chan” and Fumiyo Kohinata as “Richard .” The trio brilliantly outwitted the villains, and the unpredictable plot twists and a script that blended comedy and suspense garnered buzz, resulting in a huge hit that was expanded into a film series. It will be exciting to see how the Korean version recreates the series’ appeal. The second film is “The Tyrant Chef.” Starring Girls’ Generation’s Yoona as Yeon Ji-yeon and up-and-coming young actor Lee Chae-min as King Lee Han, the protagonist Yeon Jung was destined to become a top chef in the present day. However, he suddenly finds himself transported back in time 500 years to the Joseon Dynasty. She wakes up in the palace kitchen ruled by the feared tyrant King Lee Heon. Armed with modern cooking techniques, Ji-yeon struggles to survive by showcasing fusion royal cuisine. Eventually, a special feeling blossoms between her and the king, who has a keen palate. This is a unique survival fantasy drama that combines gourmet food, period drama, and romance. The romance between the two characters and the cooking scenes of the top chefs are sure to be a highlight. “Tyrant’s Chef” will be available on Netflix from August 23rd . Here’s the latest trailer for “Anonymous Lovers,” which we previously introduced. Starring top Korean actress Han Hyo-joo and top Japanese actor Oguri Shun, this love story depicts the love affair between a man and a woman who are hopelessly unsuited for romance. A talented, all-star cast, along with internationally acclaimed Japanese and Korean staff, brings together this comedic love story about awkward yet endearing adult love. Even the trailer is entertaining, so I’m excited! ♡ Oguri Shun: “What do you mean? Are you talking bad about me?” Hyo-joo: “No, no, no, no way.” Oguri Shun: “Can I get wet on the way home?” Hyo-joo: “Huh??” Oguri Shun: “I’m sorry. I don’t want to get wet.” Hyo-joo: “Ehhh (´；ω；`)” Akanishi Jin and Nakamura Yuri also star in this classic romantic comedy. We’re looking forward to it!
