I am bit sceptical about the Rui being fake. She is an auction house owner, taught to ID fake goods and made aware of them, by her own grandfather. The piece were in her hands prior to auction, but she didn’t verify the authenticity of both items, even if they were given to her by her own family.
This is the anatomy of how trauma can ruin the lives of children unfortunate enough to grow up in it. Both leads were victimized and abandoned by foolish parents who never grew up, and a normal relationship was almost impossible for them. They had difficulty trusting for good reason, because both of them plotted, schemed, and sometimes used each other to achieve their objectives. Not to mention that they were often downright mean to each other. I personally found this drama kind of claustrophobic, emotionally and otherwise. They were metaphorically trapped in one house, in one town, and with one set of people and their secrets and dysfunction. I kept wishing the FL would just take off and leave it all behind. Although it was a difficult watch for me I am impressed by cinematography, the script, and the acting. Whatever the case, you can't go wrong with Wang Kai Mu.

I am not sure why some say it’s boring!! It’s a believable story. There is no green tea attached to the guy like Dog hair , for one!😂 there is no abuse because of past grievances. There is no stab of forgiveness. The story is about , pretty much human interaction and misdeeds of normal kind. A marriage that is forged through rivalry of both parties, even though they both do care for each other. They provoke each other, but don’t damage each other’s dignity. Each of them know when other is plotting and seems to support each other in certain situations when it benefits both parties 😂. They only sabotage each other to the extent to win over the other, but not to draw blood. Both actors are well versed in their respective characters and done a good job. Wang Kai Mu is a great actor , each of his characters I have seen, can’t fault. His emotions are very tempered and he knows when to display them and what extent. His funny one liners are delivered in dead pan style is something I have not seen others do 😂. I recommend you watch it. This writer has delivered a unique story and the production of it was great.
