In this video we take to the skies in the DC Designs AV-8B Harrier II, within Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS). We’ll start on the deck of India Foxt Echo’s LHA06, the USS America; as usual we’ll carry out a full startup and in today’s flight, we’ll be putting the Harrier through its VTOL paces, with a flight up and back to the Sakhir Air Base.

The DC Designs AV-8B is marketed as “accessible to all users” and focuses more on the fun factor, than aiming at being a full-fidelity module. As such, we will be reviewing it accordingly.

The version of the aircraft we will be looking at in this video is still a pre-release version and as such, may not fully represent the final version of the aircraft.

Please note this video and all its contents / materials, is for entertainment / simulation purposes only.

  1. Hi ITBS, a great review. This is obviously aimed at the casual simmer and I am sure they will enjoy it. As an experienced RW Harrier pilot, this is not for me as it falls too short in many areas. I am NOT knocking the product, it looks good for the target audience. ITBS, I will PM you.

  2. Even though the Indian Navy operated the BAe Harrier, I'd definitely and 100% get this if we can get an IN livery for the nostalgic Harrier family's sake…30 of them served originally

P.S. Which F1 team do you support 😜

  3. Seriously..It's been 2 years now in the MSFS2020
People who speak about DCS are they stupid ?
THIS IS MSFS2020 REALIZE IT FFS !!

  4. Once again! We see another wonderful, professional preview of an aircraft that i have been waiting patiently for! I am now going to be skint for this week after my purchase even given the somewhat inoperative and less functional state ot the aircraft at it's state at the moment, I will still be purchasing this one! Thank You ITB! For another very well done Early Access production here. NB: I also use the Harrier AV8B from FSX, and the DCS one also, (yes it is never any comparison). From a liker, subscriber and avid ITB watcher!
@15:56 I'd LOVE to see more effects from ASOBO as in water sprays from jets on runways, when wet, or snow etc.. One can only hope right? 😛

Incidentally @ 18:50 I do not believe the Harrier AV8B Horizontal tailplane
has any independant movement? I saw them move independantly here, and i do believe they should only be for pitch, and not roll together?
would LOVE an in depth review of the Miltech MV22B Osprey if and when you have that chance 😉

  5. hello. i am just curious on what controls you binded to move the nozzles and how you did it? amazing review.

  6. I will definately go for this one! I really liked your review, but this is not new 😀 DC Designs develops almost always for XBOX too, it will surely come on the console as well. and as I’m a casual simmer and we don’t have DCS on XBOX, I won’t have any complains on the differences 🙂

  7. You already know how much store I put in your reviews, but nevertheless very pleased to hear that you’ve given this a thumbs up. Instant purchase for me, even more so given the quite decent quality on display here.

Your vid also reminds me I’ve not flown Concorde in months. Will have to, er, get it out of the hanger…

Will try to visit Discord a little more too. Been busy on JB’s airline recently and work too, of course 😀

    Cheers, M.

  8. A terrific review of one of Sydney Camm's many masterpieces. I don't know if I'll buy it, but I think DC Designs have done a pretty good job.

  9. I just cannot bring myself to fly any carrier based military aircraft in MSFS…untill thier carriers actually move. Otherwise, to me, it totally ruins it.

  10. Great preview. Being new at MSFS 2020 could someone tell me where to buy/download the "deck of India Foxt Echo's LHA06, the USS America" ? Thank you !!

  11. Good thing about not buying from marketplace is you can always edit static thrust in the aircraft’s engine file. Make it go however fast you want.

  12. Great review as is now the norm with you Sir, As this isnt released yet I was too tempted by the MV-22B Osprey from Miltech and wow how well the devs have done with that so far sounds and animations are just outstanding and I expect to see a WIP review from you shortly lol But his when it releases will be added to my library of Aircraft being local to RNAS Yeovilton its ashame that the FAA FA2 Sea Harrier wasnt included with this so the GR9 will have to be taking its place whilst on lone to the FAA thanks to RAF Cottesmore. Artful

  13. DC Design products always look disappointing… They done many iconic war planes (Tomcat, Eagle, Viper and now Harrier) but all look like "it'll be fine…" products. 3D is often quite wrong, systems are simplistic and they always lack the "spark" that gives the impression that much love was pushed in the product.
Very far behind JustFlight, FlyingIron or MilViz products.

  14. Now this is my type of aircraft I have been waiting for in the SIM. The sounds our amazing the immersion is great. Over all am really looking forward too this.
