  1. "Will it be a good remake?"

Well, Bloober Team, so no. But if they don't stray too far off-script it might be a serviceable, if ultimately pointless, remake of a game that didn't need remaking. If they Bloober Team it up and try adding their own spin to things, it's going to be comically atrocious like The Medium and its godawful handling of trauma victims was. They are absolutely not the right people to be doing this, but it's who we're stuck with, so we really just have to cross our fingers and hope.

  2. i'm really glad they're bringing back christophe gans because i loved his adaptation of "silent hill" in the film. don't get me wrong, the film had a LOT of flaws, FAR from perfect, but visually, i thought it was absolutely stunning. can't wait!

  3. Is it just me, or the silent hill f theme at the end resambles that meme flute, like the titanic one? Somehow it is creepy and funny at the same time.

  4. idk, presentations where lots of people tell you how awesome something is going to be always strikes me as a bad sign. I hope it is good for the fans

  5. If they don't have the unsettling VA it won't be the same, that stuff is part of what makes the game. Each character actually acts in a specific way on purpose relating to their personalities and why they are in silent hill. The acting wasn't bad, it was very intentional. So I hope they guided them to be that way.

  6. you are wrong here. they did games just not big pc ones. they made yugioh. they did EDENS ZERO Pocket Galaxy

  7. Im cautiously excited for Silent hill to as the whole team silent not just ito and yamaoka made the game. But Silent Hill F looks sick Im happy their leaving the western setting and doing more Japanese setting because Kuon and Fatal Frame are any indication Im hype for the art and direction of it!

  8. Oh shit, Ryukishi07…for the uneducated, that man wrote several Kojima-esque stories for various Japanese games.

  9. Silent Hill f is the one I'm most curious about. I mean, the Japanese location/aesthetic doesn't strike me as very Silent Hill, but at least it looks interesting . The art style and emphasis on a sort of decay is damn striking. Maybe we can get at least one decent horror game out of this whole thing.

  10. Yup, the automatic cringe-response in me took off the second I saw the Bad Robot logo, screw Ascension, Jar jar Abrams will never get a cent from me in any way. Gawd I forgot how robotically infomercial Konami can be when rolling out products.

  11. Conspiracy says that every person in the Konami Headquarters who has ever said the Phrase "Lets NOT make Video Games anymore" has either been fired or backhand Bitch Slapped so the we can all have this Masterpiece. It is a bummer that the Entire Survivor Horror Genre has to relay on the Remake Formula but hey this is the final one worth looking forward to. There are to many "ReEngined" garbage bargain bin games that claim 8K textures is good enough like the Last of Us Part 1. That one Capcom Employee that turned on his/her GameCube one day and decided to Reboot my uncle's favorite series because that hardware invented Remakes as a whole. The 5th Console Generation of Consoles have aged the absolute worst which is the reason why everyone wants to Remake those games but Silent Hill 1 will get its chance one day so stay patient my friends. On the other hand ever since the day we mastered the art of actually properly modeling a human being on a computer, well yeah technology not much has changed since 2001. People love to argue what is "Retro". Here is the definitive answer to that. If a game is Remade or Remastered then it is NEVER Retro and I find that a good thing to preserve a games legacy. The PS2 has the most rereleases so anyone who called that box Retro is a Moron. I don't ever use the word Nostalgia for the 6th and 7th generation of Gaming. I would just call it "Very Well Remembered". That Mid word has been used for the 80s decade since 1991 and people haven't shut up about it since. It is nice to finally see the true champion of the Horror rise again.

  12. Konami saw what Capcom did with RE7 and Village and regretted what they did by cancelling P.T.
Now they're trying to catch up now that their old rival's franchise has gotten so big and they're doing at the same time as they're doing their event.

However not making games for a while means they're gonna have to catch up on EVERYTHING.

If they keep going this direction then a long apology letter to Kojima better be in order…

  13. The Silent Hill movies were entertaining, mainly thanks to the visuals, but like peak cinema. On the other hand, they took a bunch of visual stuff from SH2 and removed their context soo ehhh.

I'm interested in the games. Nice to seem some activity in that department (low bar tho). I heard that interactive experience thing would be akin to Twitch Plays Pokemon but idk.

  14. isn't silent hill supposed to be set in a post modern american town, what's the deal with that last reveal?
