【音楽を飾る】をテーマにKads MIIDAの原画をアナログレコードサイズの額縁recobuciで額装し展示しております。
今回の原画作品はMIIDAが十代の頃、80年代初頭に音楽、カルチャー、ファッションに目覚めた“Mods“を今の気分で描きました。
イギリスで産まれた若者文化の“Mods“は60年代初頭から始まるファッションでもあり労働者階級の権威に対するアンチテーゼからその振る舞いや着こなしは後に世界的なムーブメントとなりました。
黒人音楽のジャズ、ブルース、リズム&ブルースを好み、さらには英国のジャマイカ移民からスカ、ロックステデイをいち早く取り入れて多様な音楽カルチャーの元ともなったMods の一片を辿る内容の展示です。

【プロフィール】
Kads MIIDA (カッズ ミイダ)
1964年京都に生まれ1980年代より東京で活動を始める。
“ART TRIP”をテーマに、旅の体験から生まれた作品は絵画だけに留まらず、アパレルや生活雑貨などのプロダクト作品、店舗内装、ロゴデザイン、ライブペインティング、絵本、とその創作活動は多岐に渡る。
1992年のジャマイカでの旅中に描いた油絵からジャマイカのカルチャーをモチーフに作品を描き続ける。レゲエアーティストのアルバムジャケットのイラスト、ロゴデザイン。日本国内津々浦々、UKでは偉大なるJAH SHAKAのダンスで、アメリカのレゲエフェスにおいてライブペインティングの経験を積む。
2024年にはアーティスト活動35周年を期に”三井田一成展”と題し個展を開催。本名をタイトルとして絵画を描く喜びに立ち返り、作家として再びスタート、日々制作を続ける。
Kads MIIDA
Born in Kyoto in 1964, he began working in Tokyo in the 1980s.
Under the theme of “ART TRIP,” his travel experiences have led to a wide range of creative endeavors, including not only paintings but also apparel, lifestyle goods, store interiors, logo designs, live painting, and picture books.
Since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and tsunami, he has turned his attention from overseas to Japan, traveling across the country to rediscover his past. Working with the people he has met along the way, he is dedicated to creating artworks that convey messages for the future. He also actively collaborates with artisans of traditional Japanese crafts, such as lacquerware and indigo dyeing. He also created a large ceiling painting for the BEAMS JAPAN store, which is themed around “Made in Japan,” incorporating traditional Japanese motifs and techniques, such as dragons, wind god & thunder god, and phoenix.
In 2024, to mark his 35th anniversary as an artist, he will hold a solo exhibition titled “Miida Kazushige Exhibition.” Using his real name as the title, he will return to the joy of painting and restart his career as an artist, continuing to create daily.
